18th Century Country French Louis XIV Buffet a Deux Corps is a magnificent example of the cabinetmaker's art!  Hand-crafted from old growth chestnut and elmwood, it features an intricately detailed multi-tiered crown which overlooks the two upper doors.  Each door features a stately arched molding pattern with cross-hatching, with the doors suspended by brass hinges and fitted with elaborate and large embossed brass key guards.  The lower section which is deeper, features two drawers with solid brass bale pulls over a pair of cabinet doors that mirror the upper tier yet on a smaller scale.  An intriguing undulation on the apron below is an unusual stylistic touch.  Doors open wide above and below to reveal cavernous storage.  Such pieces are also excellent choices for hiding flat panel TV sets!  Note the hand-hewn panels and framework on the shot of the back side.
