18th Century Country French Louis XVI Period Buffet is an intriguing blend of style elements that make it quite unique!  Raised diamond forms appear on the drawers and corners, with stylized florals, rosettes, shells and even fully laden grapevines being represented in bas relief.  The sign of the cross appears between the drawers as well, which are fitted with floral rosette key guards.  The rectilinear architecture of the piece is immediately apparent, with a simply finished plank top, base board, and raised panel design.  Brass hinges allow the doors to swing wide for easy access to the cavernous interior.  Note the hand-cut plank backing!
