19th Century Country French Buffet from Normandie in Stripped Oak is an extraordinary example of the unique artistry produced by the artisans of Normandie using traditional craftsmanship handed down for centuries!  Utilizing indigenous old-growth oak, the casework was created with a two-cabinet design, atop which appears three drawers, with the center, smallest drawer being intended for kitchen cutlery, hence the lock.  Tailored molded detail defines the drawer facades, in stark contrast to the elaborate embellishment of the cabinet doors and apron below, with flamboyant French scrolls and carvings of wildflowers and foliates with which the region is so blessed.  Two pair of half-length brass hinges support each door, with a finely figured and detailed key guard to visually offset the hinges.  The center stile is attached to the left door so when opened, unfettered access to the voluminous interior is afforded.  The fancifully carved, undulating apron completes the look and is supported by subtly scrolled legs.  Note the solid chamfered panels on the back, and all the pegged mortise & tenon joinery, sure signs of the highest standards of craftsmanship, which translates to incredible longevity for your family to enjoy for generations to come!
