19th Century Country French Commode is an elegant and refined work, yet with a casual appeal that will work with an enormous variety of styles!  Crafted from solid old growth oak it features a subtle bowfront design that creates visual appeal from all angles.  The contoured and beveled top complements the raised & recessed panels of the sides, and at the rounded cornerposts the carved embellishment begins.  Foliates and scrollwork appear on the cornerposts, with an upturned foliate fleur de lys at the bottom, just above the scrolled legs carved with escargot feet.  Between the legs the apron is enhanced with a decending, centered corbel with carvings that complement the more elaborately detailed drawer facades above.  Stylized shell and foliate motifs are exhibited, accentuated with cast bronze pulls and key guards fashioned in the Rococo manner.  Drawers open to reveal capacious storage.  Double pegged mortise & tenon joinery ensures decade after decade of enjoyment!
