19th Century Country French Commode en Arbalette so called because of the shape of the facade of the drawers resembles an archer's bow, is a lovely expression of fine French craftsmanship!  Designed to appeal from any angle, it features a beveled top that meticulously follows the contours of the casework below, including the rounded cornerposts which have been carved with motifs top and bottom to complement the exquisite carved detail of the drawer facades and the scrolled apron below.  Crest, shell, floral and foliate motifs are all represented artistically in relief, with brass key guards and pull knobs adding a decorative and functional touch.  Scrolled legs with paw feet provide support.
