Early 19th Century Country French Commode was sculpted by talented artists from dense, old-growth indigenous oak, and designed to last for generation after generation!  The comparatively plain top stands in contrast to the elaborately carved facade, festooned with florals, foliates and laurel swags.  Laurels even adorn the cornerposts, creating a framework for the artistry.  The laurel swags continue all around the apron on all three sides, leading the eye to the carved legs with cloven hoof feet.  Beautifully cast brass pulls and key guards in the neoclassical manner add both elegance and functionality.  An excellent size for a myriad of applications around the home!
