Vintage Liegoise Louis XIV Commode in Stripped Oak is a marvelous example of the high level of craftsmanship and artistry for which the region has been known for centuries!  Utilizing old-growth white oak, the cabinetmakers created a sturdy casework with complex paneled sides and a contoured & beveled top that follows the rounded corners of the front.  Drawers were cut in an undulating pattern for additional visual appeal, then carved to perfection with avian, floral and foliate motifs in exquisite relief across the facade.  The rounded cornerposts were also carved to create an apt framework for the drawers, ending in cloven hoof feet below.  Even the apron received the sculptor's attentions with stylized shell, floral and folaites on an intricately scrolled form with fishscale patterns creating a separate framework.  Solid cast brass drawer pulls in the Rococo style add the perfect finishing touch.  Painstakingly and gently stripped using our proprietary non-petrochemical, non-toxic method that retains the natural beauty and patina of the wood!
