Antique Gilded Art Nouveau Limoges Teapot is a classic example of the extraordinary and luxurious porcelains created by the maker in the Limoges region of France where the traditions of the ceramic crafts go back to the late 1700s.  This example features an Art Nouveau form and painted design that is quite eye-catching. The bright white porcelain contrasts beautifully with the richness of the gold finish.  Such works were completely hand-painted, as indicated by the artist's signature A. Gillard and "Peint Main" inscribed on the bottom in gold.
