19th Century Dutch Marquetry End Table is a masterpiece of the cabinetmaker's art!  The form combines subtly scrolled and tapered legs supporting an oval casework above and a kidney shaped shelf below creating an unusual combination.  The top is lavished with satinwood marquetry depicting florals, cross-hatching and intricate bordering, surrounded and protected by a brass rail on the edge.  The casework below is also embellished with inlaid marquetry all around on every side, with the same floral themes enriched with foliates and amazing bordering.  The lower part of one side holds a drawer with cast brass key guard, while another drawer occupies the upper part of the casework yet is accessed from the side.  The kidney-shaped shelf below features marquetry complementary to the top, with the same brass rail edge treatment.  Cast brass foliate sprays protect the foot tips.  What a unique design and an incredibly well-preserved keepsake!
