19th Century French Louis XVI Oval Marble Top Giltwood End Table represents a gift from the Belle Epoque, reviving the classical style as only the French can produce!  The oval shape makes it compatible, depending on orientation, with just about any seating group configuration, and it makes an excellent stand-alone table or companion table as it is exquisitely finished on all four sides.  The top features luxuriously veined Sienna marble for a wonderfully neutral color combination.  The marble is surrounded by a top trimmed in spiral ribbon motif, a design that is repeated on the bottom of the apron just underneath.  The apron is accentuated with a raised rectangular display panel carved with symmetrical floral sprays on each of the long sides.  The apron is also fitted with four plinth blocks carved with rosettes that appear above the four tapered and fluted legs.  The legs are joined together via four more plinth blocks below, carved with rosettes, and affixed to bowed stretchers that are carved with egg & dart motif and centered with a raised acanthus rosette.  Teardrop feet complete the look.
