19th Century Italian Renaissance Walnut Leather Top End Table

19th Century Italian Renaissance Walnut Leather Top End Table is a marvel of the cabinetmaker's art!  The textured leather top is surrounded by a gadrooned edge carved with demilune fletching, below which appears a reeded and fluted, rounded facade on the front, with a plain rounded side on the back.  Scrolled flourishes are attached tot he apron for added appeal.  Each side is of an "X" design, liberally carved with carvings inspired by nature, centered with the countenance of a lion that appears to be laughing.  A scrolled and carved stretcher connects the centers of the "X" sides, with two more turned and carved stretchers affixed close to the lion's paw feet below.  The front side conceals a full width drawer that adds functionality to the design.
