Mid-Century French Directoire Style Nesting Tables with Carrara Marble Tops is a handsome set, inspired by the tailored neoclassical lines of the Directoire period that occurred at the turn of the 18th century in France.  Utilizing exotic imported mahogany, the tables were fashioned with four tapered legs each, then tipped with brass feet for protection and good looks.  Brass quarter-round trim also adorns the sides of the apron, as well as protects the edges of the finely veined Carrara marble atop each table.  The smallest features a full width drawer with brass pull and quarter-round brass trim on the facade.  The essence of efficiency, the smallest tucks into the medium, which in turn tucks into the large table to consolidate into one, saving floor space, yet when needed, the smaller tables pull out to accommodate extra guests and seating arrangements.  Ingenious!
