19th Century French Louis XVI Painted Armoire represents the epitome of Parisienne elegance!  Hand-crafted by expert artisans using time-honored techniques, it exhibits the essence of the classical style, from the boldly arched crown above to the tapered and fluted legs below.  The crown has been centered with an exquisite floral garland with sprays and a carquois de fleche, all held together with ribbon.  The quiver of arrows represented the power of the monarchy.  Flanking the centerpiece on each corner are acanthus rosettes in blossom, which appear above rectangular acanthus rosettes on the plinth blocks defining the perimeter of the crown.  Spiral ribbon bordering extends out from the rosettes to the back of the piece, and connecting each side, following the arch of the crown above which is duplicated on the beveled mirror of the door below.  The door's adornment includes additional acanthus plumes and dotted molding trim, with lotus blossoms cascading from the juncture of the crown on each side.  The rounded, fluted cornerposts lead the eyes down to the lower panels of the doors, which are magnificently embellished with intricately detailed panels boasting complimentary carved adornments.  Finally, the base is resplendent with Greek coin in two iterations, accented by beaded trim.  The painted finish has achieved a lovely patina to accentuate the carved detailing.  Doors open to reveal copious storage inside with fully adjustable shelves and an interior drawer unit.
