19th Century French Louis XV Step-Front Buffet

19th Century French Louis XV Step-Front Buffet represents a master cabinetmaker's and sculptor's work!  Featuring a step-front design that provides visual intrigue from all angles, it sports four rounded cornerposts that are tipped with acanthus plumes and scrolls, blending into the contoured apron which is centered with a stylized shell and foliate motif.  Complementary shell, floral and foliate motifs are carved in relief on the three door panels accentuated by elaborate molded detail.  A pair of drawers with carved accents are fitted with cast bronze pulls which complement the key guards on the cabinets below. Crafted from select planks of old-growth oak, it is finished with a contoured and double beveled top to complete the look.
