19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut Marble Top Buffet represents a masterpiece of the cabinetmaker's art!  Sculpted from sumptuous French walnut, it features a robust yet stately elegance that will make it the focal point of your room.  Topped with luxurious beveled marble with subtle green veins, it's uppermost section houses two fluted drawers with bronze bale pulls, flanked by roses carved into the corners.  Directly below the roses are boldly carved corbels consisting of acanthus plumes, gracefully arching down to the upward-reaching plumes creating the feet.  The corners are also carved with banded wheat and set at 45 degrees off the facade for incredible visual effect.  However, it's the cabinet doors and stile that truly reign over the design, with stunning stylized urns with draperies bursting with and flanked by fruits and flowers, all sculpted in full relief on each cabinet door.  The center stile features ribbon appearing to hold aloft a basket of fruit & flowers, below which is a watering can, and below that a bundle of wheat.  Doors and drawers open to reveal capacious storage, making this artwork as functional as it is beautiful to behold!
