Antique French Louis XVI Marble Top Buffet with Burl Mahogany and Bronze Mounts is a stunning testament to the design and craftsmanship that has evolved over the centuries in France!  Starting with an incredibly luxurious, richly veined marble top that is beveled and follows the contours of the casework below including the rounded sides, it features an upper drawer tier with two drawers which are embellished with burl facades centered with boldly cast, large bronze dore bale pulls in a wreath motif.  An extra bronze dore mount of a wreath and floral spray appears between the drawers and the sides positioned over the fluted pilasters that separate the front facade from the rounded sides, and a classic rosette at the very center.  Moving down to the cabinet portion of the piece, we find two huge cabinet doors adorned with burl mahogany and adorned with a classic bronze dore oval wreath with laurel and shell design, mated with shield-style key guards.  The rounded side cabinets feature a simulated tambour effect with alternating vertical strips of mahogany and burl.  Brass molding appears across the base just above the bottom apron molding, with tapered and fluted feet tipped with brass feet provide support.  Doors open wide to reveal a cavernous interior which provides amazing storage capability, a perfect combination to the carefree opulence of the serving surface on the marble top!
