19th Century French Louis Philippe Mahogany Chiffoniere ~ Semainier ~ Tall Commode is the perfect choice for smaller floor plans, or for special niches that need a little style flair and functionality!  A purist would not call it a semainier as such should have seven drawers, but the overall size and capacity is the same.  Less than 20" depth means it provides a minimal impact on the floor plan, and the width is normal for a French commode.  The height, however, ensures this piece will have 30 to 50% more storage capacity than normal chests of drawers!  Hand-crafted from fine imported mahogany, the facades of each of the six drawers have been adorned with bookmatched grain orientation, creating an intriguing visual impact, centered with the protected keyholes which amazingly remain intact after so many decades.  Note the hand-hewn planks on the back, showing the traditional craftsmanship and techniques.  The tailored architecture and styling of the Louis Philippe genre have endeared the style to millions over the years, being compatible with any neoclassical scheme, yet providing a subtle grace and elegance that cannot be denied!
