19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Mahogany Marble Top Commode is an excellent example of the era, where tailored architecture and dearth of ornamentation were considered the preferred style by the court.  Featuring the classic serpentine top tier which also happens to contain the uppermost drawer, it features rectilinear style down to the elevated base with scrolled corners.  Three larger drawers below the uppermost drawer are adorned with the sheer natural beauty of the exotic imported wood, arranged in a flame pattern to highlight the grain.  No pulls were used in this period; only a key was left in the centered lock to use as a drawer opening aid.  Topped with exquisitely veined marble with multiple shades of gray to complete the look!
