19th Century French Louis XIV Carved Commode is a marvel of the sculptor's art!  Not only are the boldly scrolled cabriole legs finely carved, but the drawer facades and cornerposts have received ample attention from the sculptor's knife, and even the top of the commode has been lavished with amazing hand-carved detail!  Motifs include foliate-styled fleurs de lys and intricate bordering around stylized acanthus and bell flower flourishes with an intriguing hexagonal cross hatched medallion.  Stylized shell and foliate flourishes appear on the drawer facades, providing a backdrop for the amazingly detailed cast bronze bale pulls and key guards.  Rendered from old-growth oak to last for generation after generation!
