19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Marble Top Commode is a masterpiece of the cabinetmaker's art!  Sumptuous French walnut was employed to create the casework, with tailored lines on the side in stark contrast to the undulating raised panels and hand-carved shell and foliate motifs that adorn the drawer facades and apron in the front.  Scrolled legs with acanthus plumes flank the apron which has a specially sculpted stylized shell with floral and foliate sprays in the highest expression of the Rococo movement.  A beautifully veined brick red colored marble top only adds to the opulent overall effect.
