Christian Liaigre is a French interior designer and decorator. Born in La Rochelle, France in 1943, he went on to study at the National School of Fine Arts where he met Alberto Giacometti, who encouraged him toward sculpture and introduced him to Constantin Brancusi.  With his background in three-dimensional design, Liaigre created an innovative furniture collection in 1981 for the Nobilis paper company. He went on to also design hotel interiors and landscapes, including The Mercer hotel in New York, NY which featured low-to-the-floor, sleek pieces of furniture, which was met with high praise.  Liaigre’s design aesthetic includes influences of the maritime, and he occasionally includes carved coconuts in his work, which he has collected since he was a child. He opened his first store in New York in 2012, and also runs an eponymous gallery in Paris, France dedicated to fine art and sculpture.
Sold only as a rare and complete 5 piece set.
