19th Century French Louis XVI Painted End Table with Marble & Cane is a marvel of Belle Epoque flair!  Designed with a highly unusual yet beautiful crescent shape, it features a Carrara marble top with two caned shelves below.  The marble has been cut in the crescent shape to follow the lines of the design.  Motifs include laurel wreath around the marble, reeded fluting around the apron, floral sprays down the legs, side panels of olive branches pierce-carved with ribbon motif, and acanthus plumes on the scrolled legs below.  The design allows ambient light for illumination on the caned shelves.  The painted finish has achieved a lovely patina over the decades which enhances the carved detail to perfection!
