This lovely pair of 19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Nightstands is topped with Beveled Carrara Marble, and speaks to the hand-crafted quality of furnishings from France during the period.  Finely figured walnut veneering appears throughout the casework, with oriented grain patterns on the sides, facade, and even the back, making them fully finished all around and perfect for placement anywhere in the room.  The cornerposts from the underside of the marble down to the escargot feet are solid walnut, and carved in elegant cabriole forms on all four corners, adorned with sophisticated acanthus plume motifs on the shoulders.  Brass knobs appear on the drawer and cabinet doors, which are oriented left and right in case one wishes to use the pair flanking a sofa or by the bedside, and open to reveal surprising storage.  The undulating, finely molded apron completes the look.
