Pair 19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut Demilune Marble Top Nightstands are an exceptional example of the furniture crafter's art!  Created with half-moon shaped casework, or demilune, each presents no corners into the room, as well as provides superb visual appeal.  Starting at the top, each has a luxurious inset marble with beautiful veining on a white and gray palette, housed inside a full wraparound trim molding.  The casework below is divided into three sections with two rounded sides and the cabinet door~drawer combination in front, all framed by banded wheat pilasters topped with rosettes.  The doors feature oval laurel wreaths accented with ribbon and centered with small flower bouquets.  Underneath the aforementioned pilasters are the tapered and fluted legs which provide support and are connected below with a demilune shelf which adds more stylish convenience.  Great choices as side tables for a wall-placed sofa or seating group, as well!
Circa 1890s
Each measures 32.5H x 20W x 12D
