Pair Early Art Deco Period Louis XVI Style Rosewood Inlaid Nightstands with Jasper Tops are exceptionally unusual in a variety of ways!  Larger than typical nightstands, they offer an exquisite surface on top cut from intricately veined jasper stone in a rectangular form with rounded ends.  The casework below glorifies the natural beauty of the exotic rain forest wood, rosewood, inlaid with satinwood and mahogany to create subtle patterns with a marquetry floral basket taking center stage on the double doors that open to reveal marble lined storage inside.  Acanthus spires, laurel wreaths and rosettes were cast in bronze to provide ornamentation and drawer pulls, with brass trim on the tops and bottoms of the legs.  One in the pair features a drawer like the other, but an open display shelf instead of the enclosed cabinet, but retains the exquisite inlay and jasper top.  Interestingly, each piece was finished on all four sides making the pair suitable for use as end tables in the center of the room!
