19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Buffet in Stripped Oak is a masterpiece of the wood sculptor's art!  One immediately is drawn to the vivid, lifelike sculptures in glorious full relief of the blessings of a successful fishing venture on the left, a splendid day afield displayed by a snipe on grapevines on the right, and at the very center, a magnificent work of art that depicts pumpkins, fig leaves, nuts and vegetables intermingled amongst various foliates.  Such celebration of the bounty of God's grace are the essence of the spirit of the Renaissance!  Each sculpture is framed by tapered & fluted columns set upon turned plinths and topped with Corinthian capitals which lead the eye up to the corbels separating the three drawers on the top tier, which have been carved with fully laden grapevines.  The drawers themselves feature vines that project out from the facade to create drawer pulls.  A fully gadrooned top edge appears above the entire affair, with a bold base molding below fitted with bun feet for elegant and classic support.  Concealed above the center drawer is a surprise ~ a serving/cutting surface inset with Carrara marble making this a truly one-of-a-kind instant family heirloom piece!
