19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Confiturier ~ Buffet

19th Century French Renaissance Hunt Confiturier ~ Buffet is a splendid example of sculpture and the furniture maker's craft!  Hand-carved from solid old-growth oak, it features a resplendent facade with intricate foliates on the drawer face culminating in a handle carved into the sculpture.  Flanked by a pair of rectangular rosettes, below which are barley twist columns, the drawer appears before the star of the show, a grouse in the wild rendered in glorious full relief.  Bold molding above and below provide an apt framework.
