Antique Transformations ~ Louis XVI Queen Bed

Antique French EngravingTransformation Tuesday is a new blog series for Antiques In Style showcasing classic antique pieces of the past that fit perfectly into our modern world.

French boudoirs inspire sweet dreams with an elegant antique bed, a graceful armoire and a stylish commode ~ all with a discerning Continental sense of style that such antiques impart.  Old –World tradition meets contemporary comfort when we convert the antique beds to one of today’s standard sizes,  making the best of both worlds coexist in such romantic harmony.

Antique Queen BedThis lovely Louis XVI Queen size walnut bed was made in France at the end of the 19th century when the quality of craftsmanship, wood and ingenious construction made French beds superior in so many ways. This is why we transform these beds into delightful and comfortable havens of beauty and comfort, by resizing the existing rails of the beds that I find on my buying trips. I look through dozens of beds before I find one that is wide enough and is worthy of this transformation.  You can immerse yourself in antique luxury with all of today’s comfort. Our clients love the results!
