The chest of drawers, or as the French call it the antique commode, has been around for centuries, and makes a great place for storage in a relatively compact space. The antique commode can run the gamut from the exceedingly rustic to the extraordinarily refined, and in some cases producers of what are now antique commodes specialized in them, creating works of art that continue to amaze those who appreciate fine craftsmanship.
