19th Century Italian Neoclassical Walnut Barrister's Bookcase features hand-sculpted brilliance in a compact package that makes it easy to access the books while still seated at one's desk.  Stamped brass wire mesh adds an elegant detail, allowing one to see the interior without the use of heavy glass.  The bold crown molding above is balanced by the deep, richly carved baseboard below, and is accented with fluting motifs on two tiers, then framed with large rosettes on the corners.  The top is separated from the cabinetry with a tier of foliate overlay molding.  The doors are relatively tailored, but are flanked on each corner post with lavish della robia foliates, shell and pilaster motifs, and charming cherub's busts with crowns of baskets of fruit and flowers!  Doors open wide to reveal three shelf surfaces and compartments at the base, making it the perfect way to organize your possessions and/or books.  The inspiration of ancient Greek and Roman architecture & embellishment is evident, making this a truly timeless choice to enhance your decor.
