19th Century French Gothic Hall Bench with Trunk is a stately example of the genre which dates back to the middle of the 12th century in France!  Hand-crafted from solid oak, it features a high seat back to create an impressive visual effect that overlooks a bench with armrests.  The high seat of the trunk portion indicates it was made for taller folks than typical of the time period, which works out great for us in the 21st century.  The seat lifts up to reveal surprising storage.  Three unique vertical panels adorn the upper seatback, with two matching horizontal panels below that, and three panels on the trunk facade with two matching flanking a center panel.  All the carving is in full relief and bas relief for a stunning effect.  Even the armrests feature carved supports.  A pediment base completes the look.  Imagine how impressive this will look in your entry way or hall!
