A pair of rustic Gothic Revival corner wine cabinets, hand crafted from solid oak and finished in a warm, natural tone that lets the open grain of the wood glow. A cornice of carved blocks recalls the battlements of a medieval castle, and each upper door frames a pointed lancet window of leaded green stained glass set with three amber bullseye roundels. Below, a carved arched panel portrays a cellar master at his cask, drawing a taste of the new vintage.
Hand forged strap hinges with fleur de lis terminals and matching lock plates dress both doors, while sturdy frame and panel construction, a canted front, and a stepped plinth base allow the pair to settle neatly into a corner. The Gothic Revival remained beloved across the Low Countries and northern France well into the 20th century, as regional workshops celebrated the old oak carving traditions of Flanders with lancet arches, wrought iron, and genre scenes of tavern and cellar life.
Placed in adjacent corners of a wine room, bar, or dining room, the pair transforms overlooked space into an inviting Old World display, with favorite bottles visible behind the glass and glassware stored below.
