Grand French Louis XVI Painted Demilune Console with Carrara Marble Top was designed for a tall ceiling, and features a four-legged design making it self-supporting.  As such, it can be placed anywhere, not requiring mounting to a wall.  The legs are amazing, having been carved to depict quivers of arrows, with reeded fluting leading the eye down to the plinth blocks carved with rosettes from which the tapered feet are attached below, and from which the four stretchers emanate towards the center which is fitted with an amazing sculpted flaming urn draped with bell flowers cascading back down to the stretchers.  Where the top of the legs meet with the demilune apron at yet another plinth block carved with a rosette, there also appear acanthus flourishes flanking the mount.  The apron connecting the mounts has been carved with spiral ribbon above and egg & dart below, and at the center front, a special panel carved to depict the timeless torch and quiver of arrows symbolizing the power and longevity of the French monarchy, set in its own raised panel with an acanthus flourish below. The cove bevel on the luxurious Carrara marble top provides the perfect finishing touch, providing an elegant yet carefree surface for your decorating and entertaining pleasure!  Hand-painted in subtle off white with an ever-so-faint olive tint, highlighted in a taupe color for a refined opulence that will provide enjoyment for decades to come!
