19th Century French Louis XVI Painted Trumeau is a majestic reminder of the classical revival that swept Europe during the era.  Stately neoclassical architecture abounds in the design, from the tailored crown molding to the pilasters on both sides embellished with musical instruments, florals, foliates and ribbon in full relief and enhanced with painted detailing.  At the bottom of the pilasters appear classic urn motifs enhanced in the same manner, with each pilaster framed with dash and beaded trim.  Between the pilasters appears a charming hand-painted depiction of Cupid with one of his cohorts, obviously planning some type of love intervention, with arrow being prepared for its task!  The generously sized mirror below provides a lovely reflection of the room.  The entire affair features its original painted finish in a pastel olive hue that subtly contrasts with the aforementioned enhanced detailing, all of which has attained a lovely patina over the past century.
