This antique Louis XV style bed is beautifully crafted in solid oak, with a softly stripped finish that brings out the natural grain, warmth, and movement of the wood.  The graceful serpentine lines, shaped headboard and footboard, and cabriole legs give the piece its unmistakable French elegance, while the hand-carved details add wonderful depth and romance.
The headboard is crowned with a carved crest, continuing into raised paneling with scrolling accents and floral ornamentation.  The footboard is especially beautiful, with carved garlands, ribbon detail, and a central medallion that gives the bed a refined decorative presence without overwhelming the room.  The stripped oak finish keeps the piece fresh and versatile, allowing the carving and form to remain the focus.
