Early 19th Century Rustic Country French End Table represents a splendid example of Old World craftsmanship displaying techniques handed down from generation to generation to provide sturdy furnishings built for daily use.  This example, rendered from seasoned old-growth oak, features solid planks for the top with a hand-beveled edge all around.  The basic structure consists of four planks for the aprons, and four posts for the legs, all connected with double-pegged mortise & tenon joinery to last for ages.  The corners of the legs are chamfered for a nice touch, and the lower legs are flared to accommodate a classic "H" stretcher also joined in the same manner as above.  For convenience, a good-sized drawer with turned wooden knob has been provided, and the table is finished on all four sides so it can be placed in the center of the room if so desired!
