19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut Marble Top Buffet is a definitively French expression of the neoclassic revival of the styles birthed during the ancient Greek and Roman times that continues to remain popular thousands of years later!  This example was rendered in sumptuous French walnut, considered the premier indigenous European furniture wood, and the design highlights the natural warmth, coloration and beauty of the wood with aplomb!  Topped with elegantly veined marble for carefree entertaining and enjoyment, if features a pair of drawers bordered with beaded trim and centered with elaborately cast bronze bale pulls depicting laurel garlands.  The key guards on the cabinet doors below match, and enhance the exquisite carved detail in full relief on each door expressing floral garlands in amazingly realistic detail.  Even the center stile between the doors features relief carvings of a trumpet-shaped urn bursting with flowers and flanked by flowing ribbon.  The sides and base are a study in tailored contrast, relying only on the beauty of the wood for visual appeal.
