19th Century French Louis XVI Walnut Marble Top Buffet is a marvelous example of the furniture maker's craft!  Stately, tailored lines are framed by bold molding above and below, just over the bun feet.  In between, evidence of a master wood sculptor appears on each large cabinet door.  Stylized Renaissance-inspired motifs are intertwined in a stunning full relief work featuring naturalistic forms of flora and fauna.  Above, two fierce sea creatures face off on either side of the cast bronze pulls, themselves made to depict dolphins.  Cast bronze key guards also adorn the cabinet doors, which are framed by carved pilasters topped above with rosettes.  Rouge marble has been inset into the top for a carefree elegant serving and display surface, while the drawers and cabinets open to reveal surprising storage!
