Antique Liegoise Louis XIV Bookcase ~ China Cabinet in Stripped Oak is a magnificent testament to the artistry and skills for which the region around Liege has been famous for centuries.  The elegantly contoured, arched crown molding is centered with a stunning Florentine style shell crest, and overlooks the fully glazed upper tier, which includes glass on the sides, each of the three arched doors, and even the mitered corners festooned with carved overlay.  Upper doors open to reveal three surfaces including two adjustable shelves.  Two tiers of complex molding separates the upper from the lower tier, with three drawers posed between, each carved with fine molded detail and stylized floral and foliate designs.  Three artfully carved doors provide a front for the capacious cabinet below, with the center and left door opening to reveal unobstructed access for even the largest items to be stored.  Carved details include stylized shell, floral and foliate motifs.  Brass key guards on all doors and drawers add a nice touch, while an undulating, finely carved apron with boldly adorned feet set on mitered cornerposts completes the look.
