Antique French Louis XIV Commode ~ Chest of Drawers in Stripped Oak is a study in the French masculine form, rendered from oak to last for generations! The contoured facade is framed by cornerposts that are curved back in a serpentine form and carved with stylized shell, floral and foliate motifs. Complementary shell and foliate carvings also appear on the four drawer facades, punctuated by cast brass pulls. Bold multi-tiered molding appears on the top and base to frame the facade, and the piece is supported by suitably sized bun feet. Painstakingly stripped using our proprietary process that retains the patina and sheer natural beauty of the old wood, all performed by our expert in-house staff.
Circa early 1900s
