18th Century Rustic Country French Cherrywood Desk ~ Vanity is a splendid example of rural craftsmanship at its finest!  Utilizing old-growth cherry wood, the artisans created a solid plank top to provide centuries of daily use, then an abbreviated casework below which houses two surprisingly spacious drawers and an elevated kneehole area for maximum comfort while in use.  Four solid cornerposts with subtle scrolled form extend from the bottom of the plank top to the floor, and are affixed to the casework with multiple pegged mortise & tenon joints to again, provide profound longevity.  To intricate Rococo-style cast brass pulls add the only fanciful touch.  Note that the design was finished with recessed panels on the remaining three sides for use in the middle of the room if so desired.  An excellent, functional table that will find uses for your family for generations to come!
