Antique French Louis XIV Armchair ~ Fauteuil

Antique French Louis XIV Armchair ~ Fauteuil was sculpted from old growth oak to create an impressive presence in any room!  The frame was hand-crafted on a generous scale and features a high seat back attached to two elegantly scrolled armrests the are adorned with acanthus leaves at both ends.  The ends of the armrests are in turn supported by scrolled uprights that are also carved with acanthus motifs.  Below the seat, a finely turned framework includes a classic "H" stretcher for support, with the front stretcher and ball feet carved with lavish acanthus flourishes.  The generous seat is fully upholstered like the seat back in a fine, high-quality fabric, and was relatively recently done making the chair very serviceable.
