PAIR 19th Century French Louis XV Giltwood Armchairs ~ Fauteuils

PAIR 19th Century French Louis XV Giltwood Armchairs ~ Fauteuils is a wonderful find, indeed!  The gracious, naturalistic form of the Rococo style so favored by King Louis XV has been aptly expressed in exquisite giltwood, with an arched seatback crowned with an heraldic crest flanked by floral and foliate sprays.  The sprays lead the eyes to the scrolled and padded armrests, which blend into the seat framework comprised of a subtly undulating apron enhanced with shell and foliates, repeated on the scrolled legs.  Silk damask upholstery is serviceable but should be replaced.
