Pair Antique French Painted Louis XV Armchairs ~ Fauteuils will add a visually soft, classic accent to any room, plus surprising comfort in the bargain!  Sculpted from solid hardwood in the manner of Louis XV, each features a contoured shield-shaped seat back topped with hand-carved flowers, all connected to padded armrests and a generously sized seat.  The seat back is upholstered front and back matching the seat, with a lovely classical gray monotone pattern evoking the grandeur of classic art and architecture in multiple framed panels.  The remainder of the framework features elegant scrolled form with fine molded detail, and the apron and legs below are also carved with floral and foliate relief, all of which is enhanced by the hand-painted finish which has achieved a lovely level of patina and aging over the decades.
