Pair Antique French Regence Armchairs make a handsome couple, indeed!  Crafted from solid old-growth white oak, each features the naturalistic contours of the style that transitioned between the reigns of Louis XIV and his grandson Louis XV.  The arched seat backs feature crests and foliates, with scrolled slats, cross hatching and scallop shell motifs leading the eyes down to the damascene upholstery which is in serviceable condition.  Crests and scrolls on the apron mirror the seat back crowns, with four cabriole legs on each chair sculpted with acanthus plumes and lions' paw feet.
