19th Century French Gothic Bench ~ Choir Stall is a splendid relic from a bygone era, crafted entirely by skilled hands using time-honored techniques handed down from generation to generation.  Utilizing old-growth oak, the artisans created two heavy side panels that comprise the armrests and a spire design at the top, each crafted from heavy oak and carved with elaborate fleurs de lys finished inside and out at the top, with both flanked by scrolled acanthus plumes for added visual delight.  Acanthus plumes also adorn the curvature of the fronts of the armrests.  A finely molded seatback with vertical tongue-and-groove planks transitions into the solid plank seat, designed to literally last for centuries.  Behind the top molding of the seat back is a bookrack designed to serve the person seated behind, most probably in another bench precisely like this one.
