19th Century French Neogothic Hall Bench in Stripped Oak represents the essence of the style in a tailored, rustic expression that makes it perfect for today's more relaxed and casual decors.  Hand-crafted from thick timbers of old-growth oak to last for centuries, it features the classic trefoil symbol at the top of each seatback upright, each of which are a single solid plank to top to the base, which is a timber placed fore and aft on each side serving as the feet.  Sturdy front legs support a reinforcing apron which then supports the thick plank seat, indicating this piece was truly designed to endure lots of use.  The seatback consists of at solid plank supported by a few intermediate timers, and reinforced with a full length top plank.  Such minimalist designs were intended for short-term use, but with the addition of a full width cushion can be surprisingly comfortable.  Painstakingly stripped by our expert in-house staff to reveal the sheer natural beauty and patina of the old growth wood.
