Antique Louis XIV Oak Hall Bench is a magnificent example of hand-crafted excellence, creating stylish seating that also offers surprising storage! The undulating seat back crown is centered with stylized shell and foliate motifs flanked by acanthus plumes and cross hatching, overlooking the seat back itself which re-imagines the same motifs in a vertical mode in two panels separated by a finely molded and carved pilaster at the center. Two gracefully scrolled armrests with scrolled supports are also subtly accented with carved detail, all of which rests upon the lower trunk. The seat lifts to reveal storage, and raised & recessed panels appear on all three sides, with the front two panels accented with foliates on the corners. Not even 17" deep, it even makes a good choice on a stairwell landing!
