Early 19th Century Rustic French Renaissance Trunk

Early 19th Century Rustic French Renaissance Trunk was fashioned from thick planks of old-growth oak to last for centuries!  Two planks comprise the top which opens to reveal a compartment for candles, and lots of storage space.  The upper portion of the three facades features large repeating foliate motifs, but the main facade steals the show!  Greek coin overlay on the center stiles and stylized complementary treatment of the cornerposts work to frame the three finely carved panels depicting floral, sunflower and fleur de lys designs.
