18th Century Country French Homme Debout ~ Bonnetiere is the gentleman's answer to the lady's bonnetiere, a specialized miniature armoire designed to be placed near a most-used entry in which one could store bonnets and other outer garments upon arrival home. Here the gentleman's version provides a place for hats and other garments above, gloves in the drawer, and boots below. Rendered from solid old-growth oak, the design was intended to last for generations. A stately Louis XIII styling and hand-hewn planks for a backing indicate the no-nonsense design, coupled with just a modicum of hand-carved flourish in the molding. Forged steel bale pull on the drawer and lockworks complete the look.
